Rambam Bekius
Why Don't We Say Shehecheyanu on Sefiras ha'Omer According to the Rambam, Specifically? (Hilchos Berachos 11:9)
Show Notes

This afternoon (5/3/22), in our Rambam Bekius chavurah, we tackled the question we raised a few days ago by learning through a piece in Hararei Kedem and weighing in with our own thoughts. The piece begins by examining the "famous Baal ha'Maor" on this question, then shows how his answers are inadequate according to the Rambam, and then proceeds to offer a sevara which explains the Rambam. I'm curious to know what _you_ think of that sevara.

Bekius Disclaimer:
Note that this is a bekius chavurah - as opposed to an iyun shiur. Each session consists of us reading through the Rambam's writings together without much preparation on my part, and without going into depth by consulting commentaries or primary sources. For all these reasons, there are bound to be inaccuracies, errors, and other types of shortcomings which would not be acceptable in a prepared shiur, but are quite typical of a bekius chavurah. Please bear this in mind, and know what you're signing up for when you listen!
