March 02, 2023 Rabbi Matt Schneeweiss Season 10 Episode 16
Rambam Bekius
Rambam on Matanos la'Evyonim - Part 2 (Hilchos Megilah v'Chanukah 2:17; Hilchos Matnos Aniyim 10:5)
Show Notes

Length: 26 minutes
Synopsis: This afternoon (3/2/23), in our Rambam Bekius mini-shiur, we had one mission: to gain insight into the idea of emulating the shechinah by increasing our matanos la'evyonim and by giving tzedakah to aniyim in a manner that enlivens their souls. It took us longer than I anticipated to go through the facts, and we didn't have time to develop a full idea, but we did come up with an approach which I hope to be able to refine on Monday (בג"ה).

The Torah content for the rest of Adar has been sponsored by my friend and chavrusa Zack, with the following dedicatory message: When asked, "Who is a leader you greatly admire?" my grandfather z”l immediately comes to mind. Each person who entered his presence was brought closer to a better version of themselves. This was due to his staunch belief in people and his uncompromising values. Knowledge is similar — it is indiscriminate and uncompromising in its power to help us become our best selves. Thank you Rabbi Schneeweiss for spreading knowledge, and may the memory of my grandfather, Naftali ben Tzvi, be a blessing.
